NITZA Nitza (pronounced "nee-tsa") is an independent multi-lingual singer and songwriter who has entertained audiences around the world. From Madison Square Garden in New York City, the MGM Garden in Las Vegas, and the Staples Center in Los Angeles to countries including Japan, Thailand, Russia, Tunisia and Greece, Nitza has performed in settings ranging from intimate acoustic venues to large arenas. Her art reflects her love of world music, incorporating a blending of exotic instruments, such as the bouzouki, shakuhachi and oud, with western sensibilities. Traveling extensively throughout her career, she infuses her music with flavors that she encounters across the globe. During 2006, Nitza was invited by Guy Laliberte, founder of Cirque du Soleil, to perform her own musical compositions as the opening act of the Cirque musical event "Delirium". Nitza became the first solo artist ever to perform original music in a Cirque du Soleil show. With 162 performances throughout the U.S. and Canada, reaching a live audience of well over 1 million, the tour grossed in the top five of all tours for 2006. On Nov. 29th 2007, Nitza won an award at the The Los Angeles Music Awards in the "World Music Artist of the Year" category. The Los Angeles Music Awards show is the largest of its kind to recognize the achievements of independent artists from across the globe. Nitza performed the opening musical number for the award show at the The Music Box @ Fonda in Hollywood, CA. The show will air on television at a later date. Nitza is currently in the pre-production stage of her visionary multimedia show, planned as a touring event starting in 2008. 2007 HOLLYWOOD FAME AWARDS On November 28th, 2007, another story of Hollywood lore was born at the
world famous Whisky A Go-Go on the Sunset Strip. The 2007 Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards. With
an amazing mix of motion picture and music people all in the same venue, this was a most
memorable event. Awards and accolades were handed out to 65 of the 500 plus attendees at
the show. Some very established and well connected industry heavyweights to home a plaque.
